Enviromax & How it Works


EnviroMax is a totally new concept of liquid organic polymers and copolymers that provides beneficial changes to the structure and texture of soil. EnviroMax is not a fertilizer or wetting agent, but a proven soil conditioner which greatly enhances the ability of the soil to function to its maximum capacity.
	Changing the "tilth" of the soil also promotes tunneling by earthworms. This provides additional aeration and the proper air/water relationship, allowing deeper moisture and root growth. "Compacted" or high salinity soils prevent root growth and become impervious to water or other nutrients. The shallow root growth keeps plants very dependent on surface water.
Here's how it works:
EnviroMax™ is a convenient liquid formula which is simply mixed with water and applied to the soil. EnviroMax is composed of polymers of high molecular weight (over 12,000) and, when fully expanded, a very long chain length. In concentrated form, however, the polymer molecules in EnviroMax are tightly compressed and occupy very little space. When mixed with water and applied to the soil, these tightly coiled molecules begin to uncoil, extend and expand. Aided by gravitational pull, this molecular expansion literally forces EnviroMax down into the soil profile opening pathways along its journey. As the journey continues downward and the molecules continue to expand, beneficial changes to the structure and texture of the soil profile occurs. Agglomeration of very fine particles into larger bodies or crumbs takes place. The resultant pore space allows air and water unrestricted movement through the soil. Water penetration and drainage is improved as a result of the new pore spaces, allowing moisture and nutrients to reach new depths. Root growth is enhanced dramatically. Capillary action is greatly improved, allowing plants to transfer and uptake nutrient solutions at a much greater rate and from much greater distances. Functional groups at the tips of the polymer molecules will literally dissolve mineral deposits and hardpan layers. The strong anionic charge of EnviroMax helps the cationic nutrients wick their way to the plant root systems - without tying up their availability. These amazing changes to the structure and tilth of the soil make EnviroMax a wise addition to a good soil management program.
	Look at the dramatic differences between the turfgrass in the infield and the outfield of this athletic complex. EnviroMax was applied to the infield only. These results were achieved within 30 days of application!
Comparative studies have shown significant increases in seed germination and crop yields, varying from 24% to nearly 100% in diversified crops. These photos were taken from control fields of wheat. The only variable in the fields was the application of one gallon per acre of EnviroMax to the field represented by the picture on the right.

The photo on the left, taken at Prestancia, the TPC course at Sarasota, Florida, shows the no. 10 fairway before application of EnviroMax . The photo on the right shows the same fairway, now lush and green only 42 days after application!
The number 10 fairway at the prestigious Tournament Players Club at Prestancia in Sarasota, Florida was suffering from the problems associated with badly compacted soil conditions. Water penetration and drainage was very poor with virtually no moisture below the two inch level. Core sampling revealed root growth of two inches or less throughout the area. Severe stress would occur after three days without moisture. Hard rains of two to three inches would force the course to close due to poor drainage and the resultant flooding. These conditions were not the result of a lack of nutrients or irrigation. Despite rigorous corrective measures, including intensive mechanical aeration, conditions continued to deteriorate. EnviroMax was applied to the area at a dosage of 0.6 gallons per acre and repeated one week later at the same dosage. Within 40 days from the initial treatment, conditions improved dramatically. Root growth increased beyond the six inch level and turf had completely filled in exposed areas. Water penetration was complete and irrigation was shut off to this fairway for ten days before it became stressed. The water no longer stands in the fairway ... even after a hard rain. Greatly improved soil texture was found throughout the soil profile and moisture was found available at the six inch level.Water meter records show a 50% reduction in irrigation in the 18 months since first utilizing EnviroMax. The entire course and surrounding grounds (not to mention the golfers) are now enjoying the benefits of EnviroMax!
To illustrate the drainage improvement characteristics of EnviroMax, look at this case from the Desert Golf Course In Scottsdale, Arizona: Due to heavy rains in this flood control area, an unwanted 10- 1 2 acre lake was formed near the 15th hole and was overflowing onto the course. "The course has been repeatedly closed due to the floods," according to the course superintendent, "...usually for one to three weeks!" Frustrated at attempts to alleviate the problem, course officials made plans to drill dry wells (drainage holes) at considerable expense. ENVIROMAX (the new name for SoilMaster Rx) was employed to improve the porosity and percolation of the soil and assist in the drainage of this several year old problem ... with incredible results! The product was sprayed onto the lake at several times the normal dosage. Steady lowering of flood levels began almost immediately. After 30 days, the lake was a fraction of its former size. A second application was applied to aid in final drainage ... which occurred just 73 days after the initial application! No more troubles with poor drainage, flooding and an unwanted "lake"...and, no more need to close the course!

Why worry about Soil Conditioning?
Soil compacting occurs overtime by pressure applied to ground surface by animals, machinery, people ... even rain can cause soil compacting! Plants and roots can't eat or digest dirt and only obtain nutrients in the form of a solution. Water enables plant roots to obtain nutrients that are beyond their reach. It is critical for plant growth to have a soil structure that has 40 -60% of their bulk occupied with pore space, which can be filled with water or air. With its high molecular weight, EnviroMax has proven to provide beneficial changes to your soil structure.
Is it another wetting agent? EnviroMax contains no surfactants or other wetting agents that simply alter the surface tension of the water. Wetting agents provide only temporary relief and do nothing to improve the soil texture. Is it safe for the environment? EnviroMax is not only safe, but extremely beneficial to the environment! The changes to the structure of the soil allow significant benefits from water conservation, as well as a reduction in surface run-off pollution and loss of topsoil. EnviroMax has an active half-life of approximately six months, when it will biodegrade into harmless elements. EnviroMax does not burn or harm surface vegetation.
