PlantMaster Organic
1. I used EnviroMax on my lawn this spring. Should I apply it again in the fall?
EnviroMax may be used as often as is necessary for your soil and lawn conditions. We recommend an application of EnviroMax be used 7 to 10 days before verticutting and seeding. After seeding, we recommend spraying PlantMaster over the seeds to increase germination rates.
As a homeowner who has used EnviroMax, you may be familiar with some of the results obtained in using the product. The ground will become softer, as pore space is added to the soil profile. This will make your job in verticutting a much easier task. Additionally, you will prepare the soil to properly absorb water and nutrients. After the seed germinates, the grass will be able to grow longer roots, due to the fact that EnviroMax has created pore space. PlantMaster, with its natural growth regulators, trace elements, enzymes, amino acids and vitamins, was created in part to aid farmers in germination at planting. You will see an increase in germination rates and your grass will be in better health for the dormant season.
2. What if I am not seeding?
If you have clay or hardpan layers, we recommend EnviroMax as a one to two time application each year. One of the reasons you want to use it in the fall, is to pre-condition your soil and grass, to help them bear the effects of winter. By using EnviroMax in the fall, your lawn will take advantage of the winter moisture as the ground thaws. The EnviroMax molecule will continue to unwind as the ground warms up. Your spring grass should come in early and be in good condition.
3. What about planting late summer vegetables, and fall flowers?
We always recommend pre-treating any garden area (with hardpan or clay soils) with EnviroMax, for ease of planting, as well as for better pore space in the soil for your plants. We also recommend PlantMaster for flowers and vegetables, to supply your plants with all of the trace elements, vitamins, enzymes, amino acids and natural growth regulators. Treat these right after planting or when transplanting. Use 3 ounces of PlantMaster with 3 gallons of water for every 1000 square feet. With flowers and flowering plants, you may reapply when the first blooms appear and then in half doses at 30 day intervals. With vegetables, you may apply bi-monthly in half doses. If you do not do this apply one full dose of PlantMaster again when the plant reaches approximately 2/3 of its growth. By using PlantMaster for second plantings, you will find the amount of time required for the growth cycle will be reduced 10% - 20%. This allows enough time to harvest your second crop on these vegetables.
4. Should I be using anything on my trees before winter?
Yes, trees need to store nutrients and sap prior to dormancy. Feeding PlantMaster before they do is like giving them a feast. Your trees will be healthier, and in spring should look better, earlier. Hopefully, you have already treated with EnviroMax and/or PlantMaster earlier in the year. Treating with EnviroMax will help your trees root growth and with absorption of water and nutrients.
5. If I am planting bulbs this fall, what should I do?
Pre-treat the area to be planted with PlantMaster. Use about one ounce of PlantMaster to 3 gallons of water, for every 100 square feet. Then gently tap in the bulb. After 30 days, reapply PlantMaster through the hose end sprayer. If the ground has already frozen, wait for warmer weather to apply. In the spring, after the ground has thawed, apply again when the plant has emerged.
6. When I plant new bushes, shrubs and trees this summer and fall, what do I use?
In very tightly compacted or clay soils, we recommend pre-treating any area where you are going to plant anything with EnviroMax, one to two weeks prior to planting. This will make your job easier, and help pre-condition the soil. After planting or transplanting, apply PlantMaster with the hose end sprayer or with a watering can. With trees, be sure to cover the entire area of the canopy when using either product. We also suggest a similar method be used when laying new sod. If the soil has already been conditioned, or you have good soil tilth to start with, then you will not need to pre-treat with EnviroMax.
7. What about my indoor or potted plants?
PlantMaster Indoor Organic Concentrate or Formula is recommended for all plants in any type of container. Use one teaspoon per gallon of water of the Concentrate or ½ ounce per gallon of water of the Formula and then water as you normally would, once a month. You may use PlantMaster Organic Indoor Concentrate or Formula every 14 days for plants that are root bound, in the beginning. This product is especially formulated to reduce root bound conditions. When starting seedlings, use this formula with your normal root booster for quicker maturity, more roots and stronger stalks. PlantMaster Organic Concentrate and Formula is now available in a new package, which is convenient for this type of application.
8. Do I always have to water after applying EnviroMax or PlantMaster?
We have indicated on our directions that you should always apply water after using either product. (If applied before it rains, the rain will do the job for you.) Water helps make the products work. Additionally, you do not want to let the product sit on plant leaves for too long. These products work on the ground and in the ground.
9. I heard there is a new formula for lawn and garden. What is it? Do I still need to use EnviroMax and PlantMaster?
The new formula is EnviroLife. It does not replace EnviroMax or PlantMaster. It should be used with PlantMaster or EnviroMax. The formula is made of "good" bacteria, microorganisms, that are required in all healthy soils. We find these same type of microorganisms in all lush surroundings, such as in tropical forests. These microorganisms make nutrients more usable for the plants and grasses, aid in reducing toxic chemicals in the soil and aid in boosting the plants ability to resist fungus, mold and diseases. We recommend at least a spring application and an application 7 days after using any herbicide, fungicide or insecticide.
We hope you have enjoyed beautiful gardens and lush lawns all year. We look forward to another season. Please contact us when you have comments, questions, or suggestions.
